Sometimes you may have more information than can fit into standard space provided on Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. This is especially common for travel records, previous addresses and previous employers. When your records do not fit into the limited space on Form N-400, you’ll need to include the information in an organized way. Failure to present the information neatly can lead to confusion. And for USCIS, confusion results in a Request for Evidence or even a rejection.
If you need extra space to complete any item in N-400 application, use and attach a separate sheet of paper. Type or print your full name and Alien Registration Number (if any) at the top of each sheet, also indicate the Page Number, Part Number, and Item Number to which your answer refers. When filing your application for naturalization, include this sheet directly behind your completed Form N-400.
