It is possible to expedite Form I-131, Application for Travel Document, only in certain cases that include: emergency situation; severe financial loss; humanitarian situation; compelling interest of USCIS; USCIS error.
To apply for expedited processing of your Form I-131 you must include a cover letter explaining the reason for such a request. In order to prove that this is an extremely urgent situation this written explanation should be accompanied by a convincing supporting evidence. The supporting evidence may include: death certificate, medical documents, travel records. Additionally, you should provide your e-mail address and fax number with the expedite request for a Reentry Permit, Refugee Travel Document, or Advance Parole Document.
Also, we recommend you to type/print in black ink the word EXPEDITE in the top right corner of your I-131 application.
Within 7-10 days after filing for the expedited processing, you may contact the National Customer Service Center to find out the status of your request.
