The United States has many dual citizens or so-called bipatrides because the US laws allow people to acquire the American nationality and also keep their original nationality. Although the US has no restrictions for acquisition of dual citizenship, some countries may limit this right for their nationals or citizens.
The list of countries that allow dual citizenship with the United States is fairly long, so we will to mention only some countries that do recognize bipatrides. Here are these countries:

Most countries in the Americas, such as:
- Argentina
- Bolivia
- Brazil
- Colombia
- Cuba
- Ecuador, and others.
Some European countries without restrictions or special requirements:
- Denmark;
- Great Britain;
- Greece;
- France;
- Luxembourg;
- Ireland;
- Italy;
- Portugal,
- Poland, and others.
European Countries with restrictions or special requirements:
- Austria;
- Germany;
- Hungary;
- Spain;
- Turkey, and some others.
Some other countries:
- Australia;
- New Zealand;
- Egypt,
- Israel.
Keep in mind that many countries introduce various restrictions for people to acquire dual citizenship. For example, Pakistan allows dual citizenship but only for countries with which Pakistan has a special dual nationality arrangement. And the United States are included in the list of such countries.
If you are coming from Spain and you acquired the US citizenship you cannot but notify the Spanish government of your desire to keep Spanish nationality within three years. Otherwise, your Spanish citizenship will be revoked.
Most other countries either entirely prohibit dual nationality or specify the age until which you can be a bipatride. Bahamas, Cameroon, Tanzania, or Democratic Republic of Congo allow dual citizenship only until you reach full legal age that is recognized in the country (usually, 18 or 21 years).
It is worth noting that the laws of any country can seriously change over time. For example, Ireland declined the “jus soli” principle several years ago in an attempt to stop birth tourism. Therefore, although we included the countries that currently allow dual citizenship, you should verify if any of the listed countries changed the immigration laws.
